Following are other Down Under girls who love birds. Yes I know there are plenty of boys down here who love birds too. But, like the cassowary, they can be illusive.

I too enjoy the sound of Maggie's chatting and I am jealous of your mother. Have you ever read "Waddle, giggle, gargle" by Pamela Allen. Just a children's book - but fun.
Thanks for my birds inclusion.

I enjoyed the sweet story about your mum and her maggie friends. A nice selection of bird treats you've shared and I'm happy to discover that there's a group pool on flickr for flying ducks! brilliant. Off to check that out right now :)

I think of myself as a bit of a mag[ie sometimes, picking and choosing what I like and what appies!! If it is for the birds then I am all for it :) I loved the story thankyou for sharing! Thank you so much for including me Chrisy!! XXXOOO's to you! An absolute honour!

I adore that story about your Mum - I can relate totally as I've had the odd encounter with chatting magpies at my feet (I am 100% positive they were communicating meaning of some sort) and I always have a chat to my Dad's cat on the phone when I ring. He runs into the room whenever the phone goes!

Have a lovely Aus day tomorrow - hope it's not tooo hot in your neck of the woods...xoxo Sam.

How fortunate you are to have a mother who is a Magpie Whisperer. I remember a couple of years ago trying to have a telephone conversation with a male Magpie Whisperer and came off second best.

Thank you so much for including my dress - I feel 'umbled to be included in your fabulous blog. Have a wonderful Australia Day. I am expecting Mr Rudd to name me Australian of the Year tonight and will be extremely disappointed if I miss out ... again.

Oh that's marvelous! My great grandmother once saved a baby magpie. She released it and it lived wild, but whenever she was out and about it would follow her everywhere she went. They do form strong bonds, those birds.

Just hearted blossomnbird - wonderful featured artists!
