I've been at the ocean, a wondrous thing, beyond words for me but I do enjoy reading poetry that taps into my own experience - such as Walt Whitman's On the Beach at Night, Alone below after these lovely aquarium pics. They're little pieces of the ocean that I'd like to stare at every day. Not with large fish though, like those in the coffee table, but with tiny fish in their own big world.

ON the beach at night alone,
As the old mother sways her to and fro, singing her husky song,
As I watch the bright stars shining—I think a thought of the clef of the universes, and of
the future.
A VAST SIMILITUDE interlocks all,
All spheres, grown, ungrown, small, large, suns, moons, planets, comets, asteroids,
All the substances of the same, and all that is spiritual upon the same,
All distances of place, however wide,
All distances of time—all inanimate forms,
All Souls—all living bodies, though they be ever so different, or in different worlds,
All gaseous, watery, vegetable, mineral processes—the fishes, the brutes,
All men and women—me also;
All nations, colors, barbarisms, civilizations, languages;
All identities that have existed, or may exist, on this globe, or any globe;
All lives and deaths—all of the past, present, future;
This vast similitude spans them, and always has spann’d, and shall forever span them, and
compactly hold them, and enclose them.

I can always count on you to lift my spirits with beautiful words and gorgeous photos. That fish tank with the Bonsai tree (at least that's how it looks to me) is amazing.
just lovely! Hope you have been well, my friend :D

craving some ocean time myself...
Love these pictures so amazing. My favourites are the telephone booth and the last shot. They are so cool. Thank you for your last comment on my blog. I really appreciate it and you give me the nicest and most understanding comments out of most of my readers. I've been thinking more about what you said.
So beautiful! The top image is my favorite, and I looooove the poem. I've been thinking those sorts of thoughts myself lately, especially in the pool alone at night here on Moss Hill...It's not the ocean, of course, but it is my own cradle of water, with the inky sky and Milky Way wheeling overhead.
Have you seen this: http://www.poseidonresorts.com/poseidon_main.html? It looks amazing, and a bit scary, but an adventure you'd never forget (and I could never afford! - but dreaming is free.)

My dearest readers I sneak in here feeling oh so guilty for not visiting your blogs or keeping this one more up to date...unfortunately I'm unwell with a chest infection tho hopefully on the right drugs now and on the mend...thank you for sticking with me...more and more I realise the greatest gift we can give others is kindness...thank you for yours...
I haven't been to the beach for such a long time! Even though I'm not a huge beachy surf bunny I still adore it! The walk from Maroubra along the cliff walk to Bondi is pure heaven. The beaches you pass take your breath away.
Love, love post as always - adore that wondrous coffee table! XO
I love the ocean! aaahhh....There's something so uplifting about it, spiritual, deep, serene. At times so mighty and fierce. I love to snorkel and see all the variations of creatures in the sea. I've seen whales, dolphins, turtles.
Chrisy, glad you are feeling better. I wish you healing.
