My Italian Garden

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
Well, no, not mine but hopefully, in time, ‘inspired by’ these google pics. I moved into my house in late January this year. It’s a big 1980s brick place with 300 cement balustrades that were often added in that era to give that Italianesque look – so what choice did I have? An Italian villa it is. The house has now been rendered and painting of the balustrades to help them ‘blend in’ is nearly finished. I’ll post some before and after pics in my next post. And I’ve started the garden makeover but it could (optimistically) take a few years…

chrisy, i cannot wait to see your house and your befores! even a couple of afters! my yard was a blank canvass five years ago and i am shocked at how lushy lovely it is looking. i think the trick is to plant some big shrubs first and then create little spaces. hahaha, i should talk, but i have such fun with it! in a way it's the same as painting

I can't wait to see the end results. These photos are absolutely gorgeous! If they are your inspiration, good things are to come!

These pictures are gorgeous. I especially love the bright colours which stand out against the green. Your house sounds lovely, I'd love to see your pictures. I also wanted to say thank you for your last comment and for being such a beautiful friend. You are one of the friends who understands me the most and I really appreciate that.

Oh my goodness! My eyes were out on stalks there for a few minutes as I thought this was your garden! By the way, have you been watching MOnty Don's tour of Italian Gardens on cable? It really is something - I think you'd love it! It might be available on DVD at an ABC store soon (fingers crossed!).
