As I sit and meditate I have moments of being mindful/staying present in the moment. Glimpses. I feel within myself a spaciousness that allows me to observe without reacting. I can observe what is happening right now without wishing it were different. I can enjoy the pleasant without trying to grasp onto it as I know it will change. I can accept the unpleasant without being fearful that it’ll never end, because it will. These moments are enough to sustain me.

Christy, visiting your blog is like a trip to a planet made of nothing but art. What a delight. What a gift, the moments I spend here.
One will never get today back, so while it's fine to wish certain elements were better/different, I usually try to share your sense of contentment with the moment that we are blessed to have right now.

There must be something in the air. You are the third (Australian) blog this morning to ponder this. Is it a mid winter thing? Or a mid life thing? Or an every now and then thing? Love the pictures and words here.
I love the last picture so much it is really amazing. I have to be careful not to look at it for too long though; my eyes can't handle it haha. I agree with what you wrote I feel that often too.
I love the fox in sox, oops I mean shoes, down there, but seriously that tree picture is making me feel giddy! Great blog, now following.
