Marionette Box by Ostrich Girl
There is a story about a wise woman who once told her daughter, “Two wolves live inside me. One is full of self loathing, regrets, worry, apathy and denial of pleasure. The other is full of the joy of life, and compassion for others and self, and a great love for the world. All the time, these wolves are fighting inside me.” “But,” asked the daughter “Which wolf will win?” The mother answered, “The one I feed.” adapted from a Navajo folktale

Thank you so much Chrisy for featuring my "Two Victorian Ladies"! I love, love, love that sleep lamp by the way - it's divine!
Oh my gosh - I love that lamp!!!
The marionettes are 'super cute' (oh dear! embracing my inner cheerleader) and the slumbering lovers would make an amazing addition to any home.
I love shadowboxes, or shadow lampshades, they're amazing!
So cool to see all this fun collection of goodies you love together!!! Thankyou for let me in on it! xoxo Sheri DeBow

Yay you're back! I missed your posts. Hope you had a fun time away. I really like the Matou en Peluche print!!!
Such lovely pieces and such a neat idea; that we all fight our inner demons and some make art to express this struggle. I love that lamp... so sweet. It reminds me of Peter Pan.
Great folktale...so true. Love that lamp!!
Hi again Chrisy, I've given your fab blog an award!
The Animator video is apparentlyby Melbourne resident Nick Hilligoss (posted on vimeo by a fan I assume)

What a remarkable piece of work. It doesn't apear to be on the above site, but one of the commenters on vimeo noted he was the original...animator. Very inspiring.
Chrisy...wow your blog is amazing!!! i have alot to learn! fantastic!

That is the very best quote!!! And so many beautiful other-worldly things - you always discover the best stuff, and then weave it all together so seamlessly.
Thank-you :)
Something for me to think about again! You've got such a great knack for picking quotes and writing pieces that make me (and lots of other people too) stop and think. I love it. It really makes you stop and think about which 'wolf' you've been feeding.
Chrisy, I really enjoyed the animator. Of the art, I most liked "The Courtyard."
Very wise words and another great collection of images!
how bizzare ... I just did a post about wolfs and foxes ... then came here and read your post! Must be the day for growling wolfy types??
oops 'wolves' not 'wolfs' ...
Hi Chrisy,

Hi Chrissy!
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit me and post a comment. Your blog has so many interesting things to look at!! I especially like the Navaho proverb about the wolves. I think all of us can relate to that one to one degree or another!!

I love the story because it is so true.
The dolls made by Ostrich Girl are wonderful and the artist Sheri is a brilliant person. She is totally full of fun.
