Other worlds

One of my favourite activities is night swimming. I’m lucky there’s a pool here. And lazy backstroke is my preferred stroke. I can look at the stars and the moon then. It’s like a meditation.

Living close to the city we don’t get the vibrant view of the stars that you do out west, and I miss that, but there’s enough here to remind me that there’s another world up there.

I like to walk along the river bank earlier in the evening. Most days I see at least one fish jumping, as if to remind me that there’s another world down there too. Life is so good.

There is nothing more tranquil than floating in a pool at night gazing upwards at another world!

I adore night swimming, too. Thank you for posting about this tranquil joy, it reminded me of nights spent floating on the water a of large lake in my hometown that runs along a motel/hotel/restaurant lined street. Against the indigo black of summer nights, I used to love squinting my eyes up and watching the lights on the buildings across the street twinkle like fireflies.

Wishing you a marvelous month of October, sweet dear!

Wow what a beautiful post about swimming at night. I have done that before and it is so serene. I envy those that live near the beach or even have a pool. At my condo, we can't swim at night time. Against the rules, but I often wish I could. Your post really sets the mood and I took myself to your place in your mind and was the one swimming!

So pretty Chrisy! I used to swim in the evenings and at night when I was younger but I can't seem to get back into the routine of it even though I know what bliss it is to do so! Maybe this Summer! Fingers crossed!

Oh night swimming is lovely! I only wish I had a pool. Doin' backflips into my bathtub just isn't as much fun!
