Thank you for making us all more beautiful sweet Renee. I miss you.
We're here to end it,
I said & she said, No,
we're here to begin it
& then she turned &
opened her arms
& everywhere I could see,
there were people,
like bright birds, calling
with a thousand voices
& suddenly I understood.
Here is where it begins.
With all of us, together
giving our daughters
a world worth loving
for a lifetime to come.

Short powerful words work.

ps... your blog is very beautiful and I like it here, but unfortunately for me (i'm on a very old computer) it takes a while to download.
I will be back, but not as often as I would like.
chrisy, i know the story people--i have one of his prints--and i am always amazed how he slices right to the core of what matters, in so few words. this is just great, and there is no doubt it and the sign would make renee har har.
thanks for commenting on mr. ryan's art collaboration. he was pretty pleased when he saw what happened to his squiggles!

Chrisy, Renee would absolutely eat this up with a spoon! It's beyond beautiful. (And I own several of the Story People books by Brian Andreas. He's an amazing writer and artist!) Renee called me in December and we talked for about 30 minutes. My husband answered the phone and said, "It's RENEE", like a rock star was calling. I laughed because he'd seen me weeping so many times on my keyboard while reading her blog, that he felt he knew her, too. What a gift it was to know her and to talk to her and correspond with her. I only knew her for one short year, but it was an amazing year getting to know such a loving, giving, big-hearted soul. I can truly say she changed my life (and hundreds of others, too!) Thanks for visiting my blog and telling me about your place. I'll be back....Blessings!!
Lovely, lovely tribute to that wonderful lady...I miss her....
Oh my, just lovely and a wonderful tribute to our Renee. She would have thought that sign a real hoot! The Story People are just right for this - I love their gentleness and insight. The slides are perfect. It was a joy to see. Thank You!

I just wish that Renee were here to see her sign.
A beautiful tribute. The pictures (especially the sign to Renee's) and the words bought a smile to my face. Very fitting tribute to such a lovely friend.
